The Jabra Pro 920 wireless headset is incredibly popular. In fact, it easily one of our top selling wireless headsets. So what makes it a best seller. It’s the price.
Most wireless headsets are about $50 more expensive. And for buyers looking at options the Jabra Pro is the cheapest wireless model by a long way.
The adage you get what you pay for is not so apt in this case. At less than $250 it’s very good. Jabra decided to have an introductory model to slam the competition and they’ve done that that very successfully with the 920. With Plantronics such a dominant player there are many that wouldn’t look at another brand like Jabra or Sennheiser unless the price was right.
But what’s the headset like? The design is rather utilitarian, a kind word for simple. All Jabra products have an excellent design aesthetic and this is the same. It’s just designed on a budget. The sound quality is very good, the range excellent at 120 metres and you can even buy an optional over the ear adapter to allow for two distinct wearing styles. The Jabra Pro 920 also has the ability to connect to a GN 1000 lifter for remote answering away from your desk.
The Jabra Pro 920 wireless headset might be a perennial favourite, and we don’t receive negative feedback at all, but there’s a reason for that. It’s becasue people buying the cheaper models have never had the advantage of trying others first. When you compare the 920 to other Jabra premium models, or other brands, you certainly can tell the difference.
Better headsets are often more comfortable with a range of enhanced sound features, noise protection as well as the ability to connect to multiple devices for unified communications. When you do your sums on how frequently headsets are used, spend the extra money and look after your staff. If money, like many bosses, is the sole driving force then this is still a good option and you’ll never know what you’ve missed out on.
For my money the Jabra 9450 and Plantronics CS530 and CS510 are the better options as they are purpose built for only one wearing style and they offer better sound quality and all round functionality.
Check out this Jabra Pro 920 video. Being a Danish company they obviously felt compelled to use local talent for the production. I apologise in advance if it sounds like an SBS movie but it’s worth watching if you’re looking to buy Jabra 920 wireless headset.
