In years gone by there used to be companies that offered this service. That was becasue a wireless headset cost over $1000 and people didn’t want to have to replace them. The reality today is that headsets, like everything else in our society, are almost disposable items.
Don’t despair. Some parts of a headset have replacement parts available (microphone booms, ear cushions and the like) but it depends what you’ve broken. You can even buy entire replacement headsets on wireless models, where you still retain the base/ charging station. However the reality is the replacement headsets are not that much cheaper than buying a brand new one. If your headset is over 12 months old then it’s probably a smarter idea to just buy new because tech the technology will be better also.
If you’ve broken a part that’s not interchangeable with a spare part then unfortunately you just have to buy another. Or as some customers do, find other broken ones and try an caniablise parts from those.
What can you do to maintain your headset longer?
There are tricks you can employ to service your headset and keep it in use longer. Every 6 months you should replace ear cushions/ ear buds. This is also for hygiene reasons. It’s also a good idea to keep hygiene wipes handy and use them frequently. If people are job sharing with other staff this is very important.
Also if anything breaks you should replace it immediately, if you can, as this can often lead to other parts failing.
Basically there are only certain headset parts you can change on both corded and wireless headsets. They have become disposable items to a large extent with the massive drop in prices over the years.
