If you have ever used a wireless Sennheiser headset before you know that they are amazing! They simply can not be beaten for sound quality and their noise cancelling capabilities. You will also know that unlike other brands they have not been able to work with mobile phones… that is until now!
Sennheiser have been busy creating a new range of Bluetooth headsets – the MB pro 1 and MB Pro 2. Up until now Sennheiser have only had their excellent noise cancelling capabilities in their wireless headset which worked with desk phone or desk phone and computer. But with the newly added Bluetooth range you can now add mobile phone to the list.
Users can switch between 2 bluetooth devices meaning you can have your headset paired to your mobile phone and Bluetooth enabled desk phone at the same time or, if you are using the UC version mobile phone and your computer. For people on the go this means you only need 1 device for the office and road.
Now as this uses Bluetooth technology rather than the wireless technology the standard range that you may be used to with your wireless Sennheiser headset has been reduced. But as far as Bluetooth devices go it is still pretty generous. A standard Bluetooth device will give you a 10m range however Sennheisers MB pro range gives its users a 25m range. They have also improved on the talk time giving users a 15 hour time frame which is far superior to most other Bluetooth models on the market.
The microphones still come with Sennheisers Ultra noise cancelling which means again even in the noisiest of environments the person you are speak to will not hear what’s going on around you only your voice crystal clear.
They come with a range of accessories available to them such as spare batteries, Bluetooth dongles, desktop charge stands, earpads, storage cases and microphone covers so if you’re like me and tend to loose things you can always get spare parts when required.
If you have used the wireless DW Pro 1 or DW Pro 2 headset then the style of the headset has not changed, the headset still comes with adjustable headband and those large leatherette ear cushions which make all day wearing as comfortable as possible.
Like their wireless counterparts the MB Pro 1 is the single sided headband design and the MB Pro 2 is the double sided design. If you add the UC afterwards (MB Pro 1 UC & MB Pro 2 UC) it simply means that you also get the Bluetooth dongle and desktop charging stand. The Bluetooth dongle plugs into your computer and the headset then pairs to this giving you pc connectivity also. There is also the MB pro 1 UC ML & MB Pro 2 UC ML – this simply means that it is certified to work with Microsoft lync software.
So for those of us already using the Sennheiser headset in our office environment and wanting the same great quality and style when we are on the move the new MB pro 1 and 2 are the way to go. Since it’s release in late 2014 we have seen this range of headsets flying off the shelves!
